so apparently there's a prison in Monroe, Washington where the inmates are living out their sentences Martha Stuart style.
1. the prisoners get to learn bee-keeping and butterfly-taking-care-of cause i guess it helps make them not want to break the law anymore?
2. there are prison yard barbeques where everyone's families come and visit.
3. and the girl scouts (as in, little girls), come into the yard so the inmates can buy girl scout cookies. (with their spending money? are they trading cigarettes for cookies? sharpened toothbrushes?) it all seems very weird.
but the best part is that all the prisoners call it 'Prisneyland' which made me laugh real hard. whichever inmate thought that up should get a free box of girl scout cookies.
